General Purpose

The Software Engineer - CET develops and maintains digital product content and software extensions for CET Designer, supporting the specification and visualization of MillerKnoll products. This role combines software engineering with product configuration, 3D visualization, and business logic to create intelligent digital representations of commercial furniture products.
Working as part of a cross-functional Agile team, the Software Engineer partners with Digital Product Management, QA, and Delivery Management to deliver new product introductions, enhancements, and ongoing platform improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain CET software extensions using object-oriented programming principles.

  • Develop configurable product logic supporting visualization, specification, pricing, bill of materials, and manufacturing rules.

  • Create and maintain intelligent 2D and 3D product representations.

  • Translate business and product requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions.

  • Participate in Agile development activities including planning, estimation, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across North America, Europe, and Asia to support product launches and enhancements.

  • Troubleshoot software defects and implement quality improvements.

  • Contribute to engineering standards, development practices, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline OR equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience developing software using object-oriented programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, or similar technologies.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, software architecture, and modern software development practices.

  • Experience with source control systems and Agile development methodologies.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Experience developing applications or extensions for CET Designer (Configura) preferred.

  • Experience developing CAD, 3D visualization, or product configuration applications preferred

  • Knowledge of commercial furniture, manufacturing, or engineering systems preferred

  • Experience working with globally distributed development teams. preferred
