Description:

The Manufacturing Intelligence (MI) Intern will support GPA’s MI team through a combination of hands-on technical project work, operational support activities, and structured professional development. This role is intended for students pursuing a career in software development, industrial automation, manufacturing intelligence, or digital transformation within manufacturing environments.
The selected candidate will work directly with experienced engineers, developers, and project personnel while gaining exposure to real-world manufacturing systems including SCADA, MES, industrial historians, dashboards, reporting systems, and OT/IT infrastructure. In addition to technical responsibilities, the intern will assist with general office and administrative support tasks and complete prescribed technical and professional development training through GPA University.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Manufacturing Intelligence team with software development, testing, and troubleshooting activities
  • Support development of dashboards, reports, KPI visualizations, and data collection applications
  • Assist with SQL queries, database management, and basic data analysis tasks
  • Participate in configuration and testing of manufacturing systems including MES, SCADA, and historian platforms
  • Assist with documentation including workflows, system configurations, and technical procedures
  • Participate in internal project meetings, discovery workshops, and engineering discussions
  • Perform general office support and miscellaneous operational tasks as assigned
  • Complete assigned technical and professional development training through GPA University
  • Learn and apply manufacturing standards, operational workflows, and digital transformation methodologies
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a student entering their junior or senior year pursuing a degree in:
