Interns are immersed into our culture and will work on actual projects within their assigned business line or control function to expand their knowledge and complement their education with real-world job experience.

The Bancorp Bank is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our Embedded Finance Technology team. This role offers hands-on experience building API-driven financial services that power banking and payments products for fintech partners. You will work on real-world systems in a regulated environment, contributing to backend services and API development. High-performing interns may be considered for future full-time opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
    API Design & Development
    • Assists in the design development and testing of RESTful APIs for embedded banking and payments capabilities.
    • Contributes to API specifications using OpenAPI/Swagger.
    • Writes clean, testable, and maintainable code.
  1. Performance & Security
    • Helps optimize APIs for scalability, performance, and reliability.
    • Applies secure coding practices, including authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT).
  2. Collaboration & Documentation
    • Participates in code reviews and team discussions.
    • Documents technical designs and API workflows.
Qualification Requirements

Qualification Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, and JSON.
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, or Go).
  • Familiarity with Git and basic software development practices.
  • Experience with backend frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Express.js).
  • Familiar with Postman or Swagger.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong collaboration & documentation skills.

Program Eligibility

  • Eligible to work for any employer in the United States for the full duration of the internship. The Bancorp will not assist in applying for visas or altering the visa status of applications.
  • Enrolled full-time in an undergraduate college degree program at the rising junior level, junior or senior level standing, enrolled in a master's program or recently graduated within the past six months
  • Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, this will be confirmed by the recruiter.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree directly related to the department for which the internship program is listed.
  • Must be available for full-time internship.
  • May not be related to any employee of The Bancorp.
