About the Role:

The Junior Designer will develop and maintain FF&E budgets, assemble presentation boards and materials and establish relationships with manufacturer’s representatives.  They will support the design teams in the development of conceptual programming, creation of presentation materials, finish and materials selection and specifications, and furniture.

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design or architecture from accredited university
  • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant work experience, prefer 3+ years of relevant work experience which can include internship positions with similar firms.
  • Requirements:
    • Interior Design or Architecture Degree from an accredited university
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong understanding of a multi-disciplinary approach to design.
    • Strong digital tool skills including hand-sketching and rendering abilities. 
    • Ability to mentor and supervise intern work successfully as directed by studio leads.
    • Develop and maintain FF&E budgets, assemble presentation boards and materials, produce specifications and establish relationships with manufacturer's representatives
    • Support the design teams in the development of conceptual programming, creation of presentation materials, finish and materials selection and specifications, and furniture.
    • Other design support and projects as directed by studio and project leads.

Reports to: Studio Leader, Design Director, Project Manager, Senior Designer or Designer, as assigned.

Supervises: No direct reports but may be assigned to supervise intern work and other junior designers within the firm.

Core Qualifications:
• Hospitality knowledge and experience a huge plus.

• Team oriented with excitement for collaboration and studio culture.

• Ability to develop and implement creative solutions with a focus on innovation and quality.

• Proficient use of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Figma, InDesign, Photoshop, and AI for appropriate level of design responsibilities 

• Strong understanding of interiors and a keen sense of how elements work together aesthetically and conceptually.

• Very strong sense of style, color, materials, and scale 

• Ability to visualize and design three-dimensional environments and can communicate ideas verbally and visually.

• Experience with the selection and specification of appropriate materials and finishes to achieve key design goals; an awareness of current trends in interior design

• Strong problem solving skills; and attention to detail; ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects and tasks.

• Must be motivated; self-starter; take direction and performance feedback well
