Job description

Position Summary

The Applications Engineering Internship offers a great opportunity to assist the Applications Engineering Department in developing self-help tools and other engineering projects, all the while growing your knowledge base through hands on experience.

This role will interface with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to develop web-based tools to strengthen technical support for Parker's Electromechanical products. This will include but is not limited to mimicking Excel lookup tools for gearhead mounting kits, consolidating different obsolete cross reference tools, etc. The Applications Engineering Intern will also be responsible for developing documentation for these new tools. Other duties may be assigned as needed based on your skills and our requirements.

Qualifications

  • Student entering Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year of school in the Fall of 2026.

  • Student majoring in Software, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent major)

  • Experience with LabView, Python, or equivalent programming language.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, lookups, conditional logic, charting; Power Query preferred).

  • Experience with Microsoft Access and querying relational data.

  • Working knowledge of SQL (SELECT statements, JOINs, GROUP BY, basic data aggregation).

  • Willingness to learn and assist all Applications Engineering departments and disciplines.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Positive attitude with passion for growth, can-do approach to obstacles.

  • Able to work in a flexible and changing environment
