Frontend Developer

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)

Duration: Contract

Experience Level: Senior (8-10+ years preferred)

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to join a team building and enhancing a modern headless digital platform. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who is passionate about creating scalable, high-performance web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and frontend best practices. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Next.js, React, and TypeScript, along with experience working in headless architecture environments. This individual will contribute as a hands‑on developer while also providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
  • Build reusable components, custom hooks, and scalable frontend architectures
  • Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Collaborate with UI/UX teams to translate designs into high-quality user experiences
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design standards
  • Configure and maintain modern frontend applications built with Next.js
  • Implement Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), and Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR)
  • Establish and support CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
  • Promote frontend engineering best practices and coding standards
  • Optimize application performance through code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies, and other modern techniques
  • Improve SEO through effective rendering strategies and frontend optimization
  • Implement security best practices and content security standards
  • Monitor and improve frontend reliability, accessibility, and user experience
  • Write and maintain unit tests using Jest and related testing frameworks
  • Support end-to-end testing initiatives
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
  • Ensure high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Work closely with backend engineers, architects, product owners, and designers
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and collaborative planning activities
