What is a junior Go developer?

Junior Go Developers are entry-level software engineers who specialize in programming using the Go (Golang) language. They typically work under the supervision of more experienced developers to build, test, and maintain applications, focusing on tasks such as writing code, fixing bugs, and learning best practices. Their responsibilities may include collaborating with teams, contributing to code reviews, and gradually taking on more complex projects as they gain experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a junior Go developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Junior Go Developer, you need a solid understanding of Go programming, basic software development principles, and familiarity with version control systems like Git, often supported by a relevant degree or coding bootcamp experience. Experience with Go-specific frameworks, RESTful APIs, and containerization tools such as Docker is typically expected. Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and effective communication are vital soft skills for collaborating in development teams. These competencies enable efficient code delivery, adaptability to new technologies, and productive teamwork in a dynamic software environment.

What are some common challenges faced by junior Go developers during their first year on the job?

Junior Go Developers often encounter challenges such as understanding Go’s concurrency model, effectively using goroutines and channels, and adapting to Go’s strict typing and minimalistic standard library. Collaborating with more experienced team members and contributing to large, existing codebases can also be daunting at first. However, most teams support learning through code reviews, pair programming, and regular feedback, which helps new developers build confidence and deepen their understanding of Go’s best practices.

Job Description - Office Assistant
Join Our Team!
We are currently recruiting a Renewable Senior Project Developer to join our team and contribute to key projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role is part of a global team working towardcommon goals. We operate as one company, across all locations, with shared responsibility andclear accountability.
Senior Project Developer - Renewable Energy
Location: Tempe, Arizona
Department: Development
Role Purpose:
We are seeking a Senior Project Developer to own and drive the full lifecycle of complex, utility-scale renewable energy projects - from strategic site identification and feasibility through permitting, stakeholder alignment, financial structuring, and pre-construction handover. This role goes beyond execution: the Senior Project Developer is expected to shape development strategy, mentor junior team members, and serve as a key decision-maker and external representative for the organization.
The ideal candidate brings deep sector expertise, a demonstrated track record of independently advancing large-scale projects, and the leadership presence to build consensus across internal teams, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders. This role is part of a global team working toward common goals. We operate as one company, across all locations, with shared responsibility and clear accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead site identification and advanced feasibility assessments for utility-scale renewable energy projects, integrating resource, environmental, grid interconnection, and economic analysis into strategic go/no-go recommendations.
  • Own and manage the full permitting process across local, state, and federal jurisdictions; proactively resolve regulatory challenges and maintain senior-level relationships with agencies.
  • Lead negotiations with landowners, utilities, municipalities, First Nations, and government stakeholders; structure and close site control agreements and project support arrangements.
  • Develop, own, and actively manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and executive-level progress reporting; drive accountability across all workstreams.
  • Lead project financial modeling, funding strategy, and the structuring and negotiation of commercial agreements including PPAs, interconnection agreements, and offtake arrangements.
  • Serve as the senior cross-functional liaison across engineering, environmental, legal, and finance teams; identify and resolve risks that could impede development milestones.
  • Represent the company at public hearings, community meetings, regulatory proceedings, and industry conferences as a senior spokesperson for project objectives and company values.
  • Proactively monitor market, policy, and technology trends; translate insights into strategic recommendations that shape the development pipeline.
  • Lead pre-construction handoffs, ensuring seamless transitions to construction and delivery teams with full compliance and documentation integrity.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level development team members; contribute to team capability building and knowledge sharing.

Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Urban Planning, or a related field; Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • PMP, LEED, or other relevant professional certifications are a plus.
  • Proficiency with GIS tools, project management platforms, and CRM software (Salesforce, MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).

Experience & Technical Skills:
  • 7-12 years of progressive experience in renewable energy project development, permitting, or project management, with a demonstrated track record of independently closing projects from greenfield through pre-construction.
  • Proven ability to advance multiple complex projects simultaneously across site control, permitting, interconnection, and pre-construction phases.
  • Deep expertise in feasibility assessment, environmental review, regulatory compliance, and multi-jurisdictional permitting strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen including hands-on experience with financial modeling, development budgeting, cost estimation, and structuring commercial agreements.
  • Established external relationships with utilities, regulators, landowners, and development consultants.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in scheduling, database, and project management tools.

Key Competencies:
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate risks and opportunities across complex, long-horizon projects.
  • Highly organized and decisive; able to manage competing priorities across a large portfolio without loss of quality or momentum.
  • Exceptional communicator and negotiator; builds lasting trust with landowners, regulators, community stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Proactive and self-directed; comfortable owning outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Collaborative leader who elevates the team around them and operates with a one-company mindset.
  • Resilient and solutions-oriented, with a track record of navigating and overcoming complex project obstacles.

Company Culture:
We believe in a culture of trust, shared goals, and accountability. No matter where you are based, you are part of one team working toward the same mission.
