Job Description

Responsibilities: 


Design, develop, and implement software packages for our line of products 

Troubleshooting, debugging and some client-facing activity 

Code primarily in CSS, XHTML (strict), JavaScript and Velocity 

Continuously optimize user-friendliness and client-side performance of existing features 

Careful, methodical testing of the features you create, including the creation of Selenium tests 

Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, product management, interaction designers, back-end engineers, and other UI engineers 


Required Skills: 


Bachelors in Computer Science or Software Engineering 

Experience building complex, n-tier applications using Java 

Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL 

Hibernate or other Object Relational Mappers 

Ability to meet aggressive deadlines 

3 or more years developing front-end code for the web (without WYSIWYG editors) 

Solid knowledge of CSS, HTML, and cross-browser compatibility 

Ability to take direction and complete tasks with limited supervision 


Other Skills: 


Expert programming experience using advanced JavaScript 

Experience designing and creating software libraries, APIs, and tools 

Experience developing JavaScript framework libraries on top of existing ones such as jQuery 

Understanding of Ajax fundamentals 

Experience in developing reusable framework 

Expert knowledge of browser DOM and cross-browser issues 

Clear understanding of the various Browser events and event bubbling 

Experience Grinder Java Load Testing framework a plus 

Experience Python/Jython a plus 

Experience with JasperReports/iReport a plus 

Experience with database management, database backup and restores a plus
