ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

As a Front-End Engineer, you will build the operational user experience of OCC Assistant Manager, SITA's AI-powered Operations Control Center solution that helps airlines manage and recover from disruption.  You will turn complex, real-time operational data into fast, clear and reliable interfaces for airline controllers working under pressure, 24/7.  Reporting to the Head of Engineering – Disruption Management Solutions (OCC Assistant Manager), you will be part of the OCC Assistant Manager team responsible for the product's front end, from shared component library to real-time operational dashboards. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Ship new product features in the OCC Assistant Manager web application 

• Improve UI performance and responsiveness across data-dense, real-time views 

• Design and implement data-dense workflows, tables, timelines and dashboards that help OCC users understand disruption impact and recovery options quickly 

• Maintain the shared component library and front-end architecture, with reusable components, clear state management, testing, accessibility and robust loading/error states 

• Collaborate closely with Back-End and Design teams to turn product shapes into robust, usable front-end functionality, aligning on API contracts, data flows and interaction details 

• Use AI coding agents such as Codex, Claude Code or similar as part of your daily workflow, improving delivery speed while maintaining code quality 

• Use front-end telemetry and performance profiling to understand real-user experience and act on what you find 


Qualifications
EXPERIENCE

• Proven ability to build and deliver web applications with React and TypeScript to a high standard 

• Confidence working with modern build tooling such as Bun and Vite 

• Demonstrated experience with TanStack Router and Query and component libraries such as Chakra UI, or the ability to ramp up on them quickly 

• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Codex, Claude Code or similar, with a track record of using them responsibly without compromising code quality 

• Ability to profile and fix front-end performance issues effectively 

• Fluency working with Git and CI workflows 

• Strong product sense and attention to detail, with the ability to translate user needs into polished interfaces 

• Genuine curiosity about airline operations and motivation to understand the workflows of 24/7 control room users 

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with Back-End and Design colleagues 

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Experience with data-dense, real-time or mission-critical UIs (control rooms, trading, monitoring) 

• Experience with Grafana Faro or similar real-user monitoring and telemetry 

• Exposure to airline operations or other 24/7 operational domains
