We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong Java development skills to join our Reinsurance technology team. This role combines software engineering, implementation, and technical consulting, supporting DXC's reinsurance administration platform for global customers.

The ideal candidate will contribute throughout the software lifecycle-from implementing and configuring applications to developing integrations, supporting data migrations, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with customers to deliver successful solutions. Experience in enterprise Java applications and the insurance or reinsurance industry is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and components supporting DXC's reinsurance administration platform.
  • Perform application installations, upgrades, and technical implementations in both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by customers and internal DXC teams.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data mapping rules to support data migration and system implementation activities.
  • Execute data loading, validation, and reconciliation processes during customer implementations.
  • Support customer integrations by assisting with application APIs and designing interfaces that exchange data with external systems.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Operations, and customer teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, code reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Debug and resolve production issues while identifying opportunities for performance improvements and system optimization.
  • Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and engineering best practices to improve software quality and delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Support project planning by estimating technical effort, identifying risks, and ensuring timely delivery of assigned work.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, implementation, or enterprise application support.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and SQL with experience developing enterprise applications.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex application and integration issues.
  • Experience with data migration, ETL processes, or data mapping.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies, Agile practices, and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customer stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the Reinsurance or Insurance industry, including familiarity with reinsurance administration systems such as SICS or similar platforms.
  • Experience implementing enterprise software solutions for external customers.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and version control systems.
  • Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Previous experience mentoring junior developers or providing technical leadership.
  • Advanced degree or relevant technical certifications.
Work Environment
  • This position follows a hybrid work model. The selected candidate will be required to report to the nearest DXC office.
  • Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST. Flexibility may be required to support customer implementations and production activities.
Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $84,400 - $156,800.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
