Position Overview:
As a Lead Engineer, you will join a team of seven within our wider global Investment Management Engineering organization, working in an Agile, cloud-first environment to deliver technology solutions across the business.
The Lead IT Engineers are responsible for delivering high-quality, solution-focused technology outcomes across the full delivery lifecycle. They leverage their in-depth knowledge of their discipline and understanding of related fields to drive delivery and improvement in global cross-functional delivery teams. They bring technical depth, business awareness, and collaborative agility to support the development, testing, and deployment of solutions that meet business needs.
This role involves resolving complex problems, often leading small project / initiative teams, and providing guidance to junior staff. The Lead IT Engineer acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience, presents to senior leaders, and works independently with minimal guidance in complex situations.
Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering Team Leads and Business Analysts to understand business outcomes and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop, test, and maintain applications and platforms aligned to delivery team priorities.
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders to validate solution options and share proof-of-concept code.
  • Apply engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of delivery processes and team performance.
  • Participate in incident resolution and support activities (3rd Line), ensuring reliability and performance of delivery team-owned applications.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and contribute to innovation within and across delivery teams.
  • Support the Engineering Director and Engineering Team Lead with technical advice and input into delivery team-level decisions.
  • Manage data privacy risks and ensure compliance with company policy regarding the processing of personal and/or other sensitive data.

Required Qualifications:
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in software development, infrastructure engineering, or platform operations within agile delivery environments.
  • Hands-on experience with DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure coding.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies, cloud platforms, or agile methodologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, Scrum, SAFe) are desirable but not essential.
  • Background in financial services or asset management preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with key systems such as Aladdin, Snowflake, dbt, AWS and infrastructure technologies relevant to the asset management business.
  • A strong understanding of the full software delivery lifecycle within a globally distributed Agile Team, including development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages and engineering disciplines (e.g. application development, infrastructure, integration) to include Python, SQL, .Net Core and C#.
  • Ability to gather business context to complement technical expertise.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with Product Owners, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders.

Working Conditions:
  • This is a hybrid role, with an in-office presence two days per week and the flexibility to work remotely three days per week.
