Summary of Responsibility:

Morris Group, a leading distributor of high-end CNC machine tools and manufacturing solutions, is seeking a driven Junior Capital Sales Engineer to join our team in the Chicagoland market.

This role is ideal for a competitive, self-motivated professional who thrives on winning new business while also developing long-term customer relationships. You will represent premium CNC equipment and deliver value-driven solutions to manufacturers across a wide range of industries.

  • Support the identification and development of capital equipment opportunities within assigned territory while shadowing and learning from established Capital Sales Engineers.

  • Build relationships with existing customers while developing new business prospecting skills under the guidance of senior Capital Sales Engineers.

  • Assist in evaluating customer applications and recommending CNC machining solutions while building technical knowledge.

  • Collaborate with internal Applications Engineering team for:

    • Time studies

    • Turnkey project support

    • Process validation and machine selection support

  • Assist in managing the sales cycle from prospecting through proposal and closing, in partnership with senior team members.

  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and CRM activity with strong attention to detail.

  • Stay current on industry trends, machining technologies, and competitive offerings while developing product knowledge.

  • Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (preferred, not required)

  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, machining, or capital equipment sales.

  • Strong technical aptitude for CNC machining processes (milling, turning, automation a plus)

  • Proven ability to win new business and exceed sales targets

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Self-starter with a high level of accountability and urgency

  • Must reside in DuPage County area.
