Job description

Twin Rivers Paper Company, headquartered in Madawaska, Maine, is an integrated specialty paper manufacturer producing 400,000 tons of paper per year for the packaging, publishing, label, and technical sectors. With 100 years of papermaking history, the company operates a pulp mill in New Brunswick, and diverse paper assets in northern Maine and upstate New York that produce uncoated and coated white papers in a broad range of basis weights and finishes.

SCOPE:
Reporting to the Engineering & MAD Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for engineering such as project designs, performing audits, assisting in troubleshooting equipment and systems to give recommendations. While working within the Engineering team in collaboration with the Maintenance teams, Identify, suggest and implement opportunities to improve cost, performance, and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Create, update, validate electrical designs and drawings covering power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation for all areas of operations
  • Update system drawings and the site wide power distribution system model
  • Perform equipment failure analysis and make appropriate recommendations
  • Reviewing proposed equipment replacement or upgrades including capital projects
  • Provide cost estimates for engineering projects
  • Work with other engineers and maintenance department to complete projects (Planning, Scheduling, Reliability)
  • Support the operations and maintenance teams with troubleshooting and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate and manage various "key" projects with "shutdown/outages"
  • Scheduling and coordinating with contractors for capital projects/major maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college/university in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
  • Combination of various training and experience in Maintenance/Supervision could be considered an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS:
While undertaking the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee must repeatedly move around an office environment, listen, speak, be able to answer a telephone, and enter & retrieve data from a laptop computer and handheld devices. The employee will be required to travel to locations throughout North America and internationally, potentially 10% of the time.
