Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Outside Technical Sales Specialist to join our dynamic sales team in Edmonton, AB. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to grow their technical expertise and sales skills while building a successful career in outside technical sales. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior sales specialists, technical experts, and customers to develop a deep understanding of our products, services, and solutions. This position offers a clear path for professional development, with the goal of transitioning into a Senior Outside Technical Sales Specialist role. As part of the power and motor control specialist portfolio, you will be responsible for; Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency Drives and associated complementary product and solution offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Development:
    • Build relationships with new and existing customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
    • Identify opportunities to grow sales within assigned territories by prospecting, networking, and following up on leads.
    • Assist in preparing and delivering technical presentations to customers, showcasing the value of our products and services.
  2. Technical Expertise:
    • Develop a strong understanding of the company’s product portfolio, including electrical, automation, and energy solutions.
    • Collaborate with technical teams to provide accurate and effective solutions to customer challenges.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
  3. Customer Support:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing technical guidance and support throughout the sales process.
    • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction and long-term relationships.
  4. Professional Growth:
    • Participate in training programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to enhance technical knowledge and sales skills.
    • Shadow senior sales specialists to learn best practices and gain hands-on experience in complex sales scenarios.
    • Set and achieve performance goals aligned with the progression to a senior-level role.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
    • Provide feedback to product management and marketing teams to improve offerings and address customer needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, power engineering or related discipline) or an Electrical Technologist diploma.
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, customer service, or a technical role (internships or co-op experience considered).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn about complex products and solutions.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and eager to take on challenges.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory.
  • Experience in the electrical, automation, or energy industries.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
