Job Description

Join AECOM’s Transportation team in Atlanta and play a key role in delivering roadway projects that make a real difference across Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced roadway engineer who’s ready to take on greater leadership, ownership, and visibility while staying connected to hands‑on technical work. As a Roadway Design Project Manager, you’ll guide multidisciplinary teams from concept through delivery on projects that improve safety, mobility, and long‑term sustainability. This position offers a hybrid work option.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.
  • Managing projects that involve a combination of the following: quantities/cost estimation, roadway geometrics, staging, drainage, modeling, signing and marking, right-of-way, and erosion and sedimentation control.
  • Providing technical oversight, support, and training to engineers
  • Following internal quality control processes
  • People management, such as mentoring and supervising lead engineers and junior engineers to support their technical growth and career development
  • Fostering technical excellence across the business line by sharing expertise, promoting best practices, and supporting continuous learning
Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related discipline and 4 years of related roadway project management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Georgia PE License

Preferred:

  • 10 years of experience designing & managing roadway projects
  • Experience designing & managing Georgia roadway projects
  • Experience and training with GDOT Plan Development Process
