We're looking for a Transportation Project Manager who enjoys leading complex projects, building client relationships, mentoring staff, and solving real-world engineering challenges. This role provides the opportunity to manage projects from pursuit through design, permitting, bidding, and construction while working with a highly collaborative team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists.

What You'll Do

You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and lead multidisciplinary project teams responsible for delivering transportation infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with FDOT and local agencies, coordinate with utilities and permitting authorities, oversee project budgets and schedules, and guide technical staff through successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing project scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
  • Leading project delivery teams through design, permitting, bidding, and construction support.

  • 8+ years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Experience managing projects for FDOT, counties, municipalities, or other public-sector clients.
  • Strong understanding of FDOT standards, project delivery processes, and transportation design.
  • The ability to lead teams, develop staff, and build long-term client relationships.

Why Apex

At Apex, you'll have the opportunity to lead meaningful infrastructure projects while helping shape the growth of our transportation practice. • Company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance.
  • 401(k) match and tuition assistance.
  • Cross-training and opportunities to work on a variety of environmental projects.
  • Performance-based bonuses and other incentives.
  • Opportunities for continued technical and professional development.
  • The opportunity to work alongside some of the best and brightest professionals in the environmental industry.
  • Join a 2,000+ employee national firm with 70+ locations across the United States.
