Job Summary

The Junior Estimator / Takeoff Specialist supports the estimating team by preparing accurate quantity takeoffs and assisting with cost estimates for site construction projects. This role focuses on earthwork, underground utilities, grading, paving, and related civil scopes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working with plans, specifications, and estimating software.

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Takeoffs & Plan Review

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications

Measure earthwork, utilities, paving, concrete, erosion control, and related scopes

Review civil plans for accuracy, completeness, and potential conflicts

Identify missing information and flag discrepancies to senior estimators

Estimating Support

Assist in preparing cost estimates for bids and proposals

Input takeoff quantities into estimating software and spreadsheets

Help maintain historical cost data and production rates

Assist with bid day preparations and revisions

Vendor & Subcontractor Support

Assist in gathering pricing from suppliers and subcontractors

Compare quotes and help organize bid tabs

Qualifications

Required
