The opportunity

Your role as an Oracle MDM Functional Senior will focus on supporting the delivery of client engagements by translating business requirements into functional solutions within Oracle Utilities Customer to Meter (C2M) or Customer Cloud Service (CCS). You’ll work directly with client stakeholders and EY project teams to support design, configuration, testing, issue resolution and knowledge transfer. You’ll contribute to high-quality delivery while helping coach junior team members and supporting an inclusive, high-performing team environment.

Your key responsibilities

The Oracle MDM Functional Senior will support the design, configuration and delivery of practical Oracle Utilities MDM solutions that meet client business requirements.

  • Work with client stakeholders to identify, document and validate business needs and functional requirements for Oracle Utilities MDM solutions

  • Support project objectives and priorities by aligning functional workstreams with client business direction and delivery timelines

  • Participate in and help facilitate discovery, requirements-gathering, design and analysis sessions

  • Designs and configures application software

  • Analyzes user and software requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations and defines solution parameters and specifications

  • Support design workshops and contribute to functional design decisions under the direction of project leadership

  • Help manage functional scope, risks and issues by escalating concerns and supporting mitigation activities

  • Conducts business process analysis to ensure that all business areas of impact are identified and resolved for a successful roll out

  • Provides management of, and facilitation for, one or more of the following key focus areas: Functional, Interfaces, Business Process Change Management

  • Support Planning and Confirm & Design activities, including:

  • Scheduling of required workshops

  • Preparation of the workshop agenda

  • Facilitates workshop sessions

  • Documents daily workshop activities and outputs

  • Assesses business requirements and development of overall product solutions

  • Manages issues and/or action items

  • Updates status of required deliverables

  • Development and Review of Functional Designs for RICE (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements) objects

  • Within a functional workstream role:

  • Identifies and documents any gaps that will require custom algorithms and plug-ins

  • Configures the base system

  • Assist with initial testing of base configurations and RICE objects

  • Triage and resolution of defects during testing

  • Within an interface workstream role:

  • Authors the Interface strategy documentation

  • Helps set the direction of overall Interface architecture

  • Manages the integration development and testing process

  • Triage and resolution of defects during testing

  • Within a data conversion workstream role:

  • Authors the conversion strategy documentation

  • With the customer, co-authors the data mapping plan

  • Helps set the direction of overall conversion program architecture

  • Defines and helps manage data exception/validation reporting

  • Triage and resolution of defects during testing

  • Execution of mock conversions

  • Provides knowledge transfer to the client Project Core team

  • Supports the Customer team with, but not limited to: application configuration; data conversion; development; interfaces; modifications; testing; training; deployment and post deployment support

  • Ensures project documentation in their area of responsibility is up to date

  • Work with EY and client project leads to reassess assumptions, update task estimates and communicate progress against deliverables

  • Helps to identify risks and issues and assists in the mitigation process

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • In depth understanding of the Meter Data Management functions

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting Oracle Utilities implementations, with relevant experience in Oracle MDM, C2M or CCS preferred

  • Experience with Oracle Utilities Application Framework

  • Working knowledge of Oracle Utilities product implementation activities, including requirements, configuration, testing and defect resolution

  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with customers, across different departments and levels within the company

  • Experience supporting business process change, Oracle Utilities software delivery and client communications

  • Proficient knowledge of information technology and business consulting practice

  • Strong business analysis, process facilitation, technical writing, problem-solving, presentation and communication skills

  • Handle multiple assignments within a fast-paced environment with potential conflicting schedules.

  • Positive, “can do” attitude and ability to work in a team environment

  • Willingness to travel up to 75%, valid driver’s license

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $102,500 to $187,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $122,900 to $213,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.

  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
