About the Senior Data Analyst

Our organization is in a period of high growth through acquisitions. As a result, our data infrastructure, finance function, and financial processes are also growing in complexity. We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support the Director of Finance - Revenue Analytics, who currently serves as the critical link between Finance, Accounting, and claims‑level data across our organization.

This role will provide hands‑on support for Snowflake and Athena EMR‑based claims data management, querying, and analyses that underpin monthly revenue recognition. Each acquisition introduces new source systems, new claims formats, new data‑quality issues, and new reconciliation work — all of which compounds the workload of monthly revenue recognition. This role is being created to absorb and manage that growing volume of data maintenance, cleanup, and analysis work, to enable the Director to focus on higher‑level analyses, cross‑functional coordination with Finance and Accounting, and the onboarding of newly acquired entities.

What You’ll Do:
  • Build and maintain SQL queries, views, and data pipelines to support recurring and ad hoc reporting needs
  • Query, cleanse, validate, and maintain large‑scale healthcare claims datasets in Snowflake, sourced from Athena EMR and integrated systems
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues, gaps, and inconsistencies, particularly those introduced by newly acquired entities and disparate source systems
  • Perform detailed claims analysis, using data sets including but not limited to: eligibility, utilization, and paid/allowed amounts, to support financial and operational reporting
  • Assist in preparing claims‑based data and analysis that supports the monthly revenue recognition close process
  • Help reconcile claims data against financial records, flagging and investigating discrepancies before they reach Finance and Accounting
  • Support the Director in translating claims‑level detail into a format Finance and Accounting stakeholders can use and trust
  • Support the onboarding of claims data from newly acquired healthcare entities into existing Snowflake data structures
  • Assist in mapping, standardizing, and validating new data sources against existing schemas and business rules
  • Help document data lineage, definitions, and known issues as the data environment grows in complexity
  • Work closely with the Director as a direct extension
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Finance, Accounting, Operations, and IT—to understand business needs and deliver accurate, timely analytics
  • Communicate analytical findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in data analysis, with substantial hands‑on SQL experience (Snowflake strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of healthcare industry data is heavily preferred, including data used by health insurance companies, multi‑site healthcare providers, and/or risk‑bearing entities
  • Direct experience working with healthcare claims‑level data, ideally from EMR‑sourced systems such as Athena
  • Demonstrated ability to clean, structure, and troubleshoot complex, imperfect datasets
  • Experience supporting financial or accounting processes with data analysis (revenue recognition experience is a big plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with ambiguity, given the evolving nature of an acquisitive business
  • Ability to work independently while closely supporting a senior team member’s day‑to‑day priorities
  • Experience supporting or participating in M&A data integration or system migrations (preferred)
  • Familiarity with claims adjudication concepts — eligibility, coding, paid vs. allowed amounts, utilization metrics (preferred)
  • Exposure to BI/visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for presenting analysis to Finance stakeholders (preferred)
  • This position is primarily remote, with occasional travel to the office for team meetings, training, collaboration sessions, and other business‑critical activities as needed
What Success Looks Like in the First 6 Months:
  • Independently manages recurring claims data cleanup, validation, and query maintenance in Snowflake
  • Materially reduces the Director's day‑to‑day data maintenance burden, allowing them to focus on higher‑value analysis and stakeholder management
  • Becomes a trusted contributor to the monthly revenue recognition process, with Finance and Accounting confident in the accuracy of supporting data
  • Actively supports the smooth integration of at least one newly acquired entity's claims data into existing systems
Compensation

Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience

Comprehensive benefit options include medical, dental and vision, 401K, and PTO.
