Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a licensed Power & Control Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical, instrumentation, and controls (EI&C) systems supporting industrial and infrastructure projects in Phoenix, AZ-hybrid or fully remote considered in target markets. This role will partner with project managers, engineers, designers, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from design through construction support and commissioning.
Responsibilities:
* Lead electrical and instrumentation & controls (I&C) design efforts for industrial and infrastructure projects
* Perform power system studies including short circuit, arc flash, coordination, load flow, and motor starting analysis
* Develop P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, instrument indexes, and cable schedules
* Design PLC, HMI, and industrial communication network architectures
* Specify electrical equipment, instrumentation, control valves, and control panels
* Apply NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, UL, and other applicable engineering standards
* Serve as Engineer of Record and provide technical oversight of project deliverables
* Conduct QA/QC reviews and ensure design quality standards are met
* Mentor junior engineers and designers while coordinating project priorities
* Support construction activities including RFIs, submittals, shop drawing reviews, inspections, startup, and commissioning
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders
* Provide field support as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
* Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in good standing
* 5+ years of electrical and/or instrumentation & controls design experience
* Experience applying NEC (NFPA 70) and related industry standards
* Experience leading electrical and controls engineering projects
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills
* Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control schematics, I/O diagrams, and network architecture drawings
* Valid driver's license
* Ability to pass background screening, drug screening, and site safety requirements

* Familiarity with mechanical and process systems
* Experience supporting design through construction, startup, and commissioning
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
