Dynamo Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cloud Hosting SME (AWS Focus - DoD Environment) to join our growing Cloud Operations team supporting Department of Defense (DoD) operations. In this role, you will contribute to the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our hybrid AWS cloud environment that integrates with on‐premises DoD infrastructure.

You will work alongside experienced engineers to learn and implement best practices for AWS infrastructure management, automation, and security within DoD compliance frameworks. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a fast‐paced and dynamic government environment while contributing to critical national defense missions.

Duties / Responsibilities Assist in the oversight of deployment, configuration, and maintenance of hybrid cloud infrastructure within AWS and interconnections to on‐premises DoD environments Support migration initiatives from legacy on‐premises DoD systems to AWS cloud services Monitor AWS and hybrid infrastructure performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions using AWS native tools (CloudWatch, Trusted Advisor, etc.) Maintain hybrid connectivity between legacy DoD systems and cloud environments (VPN, Direct Connect) Participate in incident response and troubleshooting efforts to resolve AWS hosting issues while following DoD protocols Contribute to the development and maintenance of basic automation scripts for infrastructure provisioning and management Assist in the implementation and enforcement of security best practices within the AWS environment, ensuring compliance with DoD security policies and frameworks Maintain comprehensive documentation of AWS and hybrid infrastructure configurations and processes according to government standards Collaborate with other teams, including Development, Security, and QA, to ensure smooth operation and integration of applications across hybrid environments Support compliance audits and security assessments as required by DoD regulations Continuously learn and expand knowledge of AWS technologies, DoD compliance requirements, and best practices DoD Focus: This position specifically supports critical defense operations requiring security clearance and government experience Hybrid Environment: Unlike pure cloud roles, this position oversees both traditional on‐premises DoD infrastructure and modern AWS cloud services Compliance‐First Approach: All work must adhere to strict government security and compliance standards including DoD Cloud SRG and Zero Trust frameworks Mission‐Critical Impact: Your work directly supports national defense capabilities and operations Required Skills / Abilities Basic understanding of AWS core services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and RDS Hybrid infrastructure experience: understanding of both on‐premises data center operations and cloud infrastructure management Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command‐line interfaces (ideally experience with Amazon Linux or other Linux distributions commonly used on AWS) Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls) within both AWS and on‐premises environments Compliance knowledge: familiarity with government security and compliance requirements including: DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) FedRAMP authorization and continuous monitoring requirements DoD Cloud Security Requirements Guide (SRG) – understanding of DoD‐specific cloud security controls and implementation guidance DoD Enterprise Cloud Architecture – knowledge of primary overarching architecture requirements for DoD cloud implementations, including multi‐cloud strategy principles, data classification and handling requirements, network segmentation and isolation standards, and identity and access management frameworks within DoD environments DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture – familiarity with DoD CIO's Zero Trust framework including zero trust security principles, continuous verification and validation concepts, least privilege access controls, micro‐segmentation approaches in cloud environments, and identity‐centric security models Ability to work effectively in government environments with strict documentation and process requirements Understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks and protocols Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‐solving skills Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality Must be a US Citizen Nice To Have Skills AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, specifically with Amazon ECS or EKS Experience with AWS monitoring tools like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and X‐Ray Experience with AWS/CD services such as CodePipeline and CodeBuild Advanced knowledge of AWS security best practices and compliance frameworks Familiarity with AWS Lambda and other serverless technologies Experience with government procurement and operational processes Previous experience supporting cloud migrations in government environments Experience implementing DoD Cloud SRG controls in AWS environments Hands‐on experience with DoD Zero Trust architecture implementations Knowledge of DoD data categorization and handling procedures (CUI, classified data boundaries) Understanding of DoD cloud service provider requirements and authorization processes Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 1‐2 years of experience in a technical role, preferably with exposure to both AWS cloud computing and on‐premises infrastructure DoD Experience: 2+ years working in Department of Defense environments or with government contractors Travel Requirement Contractor personnel shall not be reimbursed for local travel, which is defined as within a 50‐mile radius from the primary place of performance Potential for up to 10% travel Clearance Requirement Public Trust and Background Check Salary 85,000 – 95,000 Dynamo
