Job description

Summit Interconnect, the largest privately held PCB manufacturer in North America, is searching for a Project Manager to lead Continuous Improvement initiatives across the company. The Project Manager - Continuous Improvement is responsible for executing strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall business performance. This role drives cross-functional projects focused on process optimization using Lean Six Sigma methodologies within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with a hands-on approach to continuous improvement. This role will can be based out of our corporate office in Irvine, CA or at one of our Orange County manufacturing locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations through implementation and sustainment
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis) to drive measurable performance improvements
  • Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement solutions
  • Manage project timelines, scope, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful execution
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain standard work, process documentation, and SOPs
  • Track and report project savings, ROI, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in project management and/or continuous improvement roles
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment (e.g., discrete, PCB, aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing)
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred)
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects with measurable business impact
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar)
  • PMP certification preferred but not required
