Job description

Tuvli LLC is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Jr Network Administrator/Watch Stander (Day) for an existing government client. The place of performance is in Alexandria, VA. The shift is from 0715 to 1600, Tuesday through Saturday. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!
Responsibilities
  • Manage daily updates to the ticketing tracking tool.
  • Coordinate and analysis of operations support weekly action reports.
  • Prioritize and assign new work orders/tickets to operations support engineers within one hour of STAC notification (during business hours), personally follow-up on any urgent action.
  • Monitor and evaluate network and systems health through SolarWinds and other diagnostic tools; initiate remediation efforts and coordinate with engineering teams to resolve issues proactively.
  • Conduct Tier I/Tier II technical diagnostics of networks, including server resets (Citrix), SNMPc, pinging servers, user accounts, TAVEE reports, etc.
  • Support senior watch stander, provides statistical reporting data on post communications links as required.
  • Maintain a log and track metrics on network outages.
  • Maintain up-to-date IP list on NAS with shortcut to desktop of each terminal (print PDF report from post database).
  • Daily management of the NOC- take action for any technical issues, maintain cleanliness, organization (documentation), operation and monitor the logbook.
  • Ensure all tickets are acted on promptly, effectively and completed promptly.
  • Under direction from the system administrator, image and configure workstations.
  • Maintain the operations support duty roster.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • A degree in the field of computer science or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Two IT certifications such as A+, CCNA, Network+, etc. are preferred.
  • Minimum one to two years hands-on experience in a PC/network helpdesk or technical support environment.
  • Knowledge of technical security systems such as alarms, and access control is a plus.
  • Have a good base of IT knowledge to draw upon and be able and willing to learn new applications and related hardware devices.
  • DoD interim SECRET Level Clearance is required.
  • Candidate must reside within 50 miles of the Washington DC area.
