Job description

Note: This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site in our Dublin, Ohio or Brooklyn, Ohio offices. Seeking applicants that reside within a 50-mile radius of the Dublin, Ohio or Brooklyn, Ohio offices.
Founded in 1934, Medical Mutual is the oldest and one of the largest health insurance companies based in Ohio. We offer fully insured and self-funded group coverage, including stop loss, as well as Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and individual plans.
Leads enterprise projects and teams with support, in compliance with the Company's defined IT project management standards with the goal of delivering project objectives on time and within budget. The methodology being used within those standards may be Waterfall, Scrum, (Agile), Kanban (Agile), or some other. Plan, develop and implement the project lifecycle consistent with project objectives. Adhere to appropriate methodology role responsibilities detailed within the MMO standards. Provide guidance as necessary to other team members with the goal of process improvement and overall project leadership quality. Collaborate cross-functionally as required and assist with removing barriers that arise.
Responsibilities:
Project Manager II
  • Manage all stages of the IT projects assigned with management support, including planning, implementing and monitoring activities. Work with IT line managers and team members to develop appropriate methodology plans and activities with appropriate tasks, resources, milestones, cost analysis and timelines. Provide all levels of project communications and work with project sponsors or product owners to resolve issues, address changes and identify risks.
  • Provide appropriate business analysis by working closely with business areas to understand the business need and work with IT to identify alternative technical, architectural and design solutions to meet that need. Identify future business needs, especially from a strategic perspective.
  • Contribute to ongoing IT project leadership process improvement by peer review of other projects, recommendations to the Project Management Practices team (Waterfall) or the Community of Practice related teams (Agile) and leading by example in following IT project methodology standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Continuous Education and Staff Development.

Project Manager III
  • Manages all stages of the IT projects assigned with minimal support, including planning, implementing and monitoring activities. Work with IT line managers and team members to develop appropriate methodology plans and activities with appropriate tasks, resources, milestones, cost analysis and timelines. Provide all levels of project communications and work with project sponsors or product owners to resolve issues, address changes and identify risks.
  • Provides appropriate business analysis by working closely with business areas to understand the business need and work with IT to identify alternative technical, architectural and design solutions to meet that need. Identify future business needs, especially from a strategic perspective.
  • Contributes to ongoing IT project leadership process improvement by peer review of other projects, recommendations to the Project Management Practices team (Waterfall) or the Community of Practice related teams (Agile) and leading by example in following IT project methodology standards.
  • Provides IT project leadership methodology education to share lessons learned and best practices with peer IT project managers. Train business areas on their vital roles in IT projects. Continuous Education.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Project Manager IV
  • Manage all stages of the IT projects assigned with minimal support, including planning, implementing and monitoring activities. Work with IT line managers and team members to develop appropriate methodology plans and activities with appropriate tasks, resources, milestones, cost analysis and timelines. Provide all levels of project communications and work with project sponsors or product owners to resolve issues, address changes and identify risks.
  • Provide appropriate business analysis by working closely with business areas to understand the business need and work with IT to identify alternative technical, architectural and design solutions to meet that need. Identify future business needs, especially from a strategic perspective.
  • Contribute to ongoing IT project leadership process improvement by peer review of other projects, recommendations to the Project Management Practices team (Waterfall) or the Community of Practice related teams (Agile) and leading by example in following IT project methodology standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
IT Project Manager II
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years experience managing successful IT projects using a formal methodology life cycle and software development methodology.

Professional Certification(s):
  • Appropriate methodology certification preferred as offered through the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Technical Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of Waterfall project management and/or Agile scrum master methodologies/processes.
  • Working knowledge of the applications development life cycle and infrastructure processes.

IT Project Manager III
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years experience managing successful IT projects using a formal methodology life cycle and software development methodology.

Professional Certification(s):
  • Appropriate methodology certification preferred as offered through the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Technical Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of Waterfall project management and/or Agile scrum master methodologies/processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of the applications development life cycle and infrastructure processes.

IT Project Manager IV
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • 7 years experience managing successful IT projects using a formal methodology life cycle and software development methodology.
  • Experience in dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and vendor management.

Professional Certification(s):
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred for Waterfall professionals.
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification preferred for Agile professionals.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:
  • Appropriate methodology certification preferred as offered through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
