Job Description Lead Software Developer | Java | Spring | Microservices | Hybrid Are you a senior software engineer who enjoys leading technical initiatives while staying hands-on with development. We're partnering with a highly respected financial services organization to hire a Lead Software Developer who will help shape the future of enterprise applications while mentoring developers and driving technical excellence. This is more than just a senior development role.

You'll serve as a technical leader, influence architectural decisions, mentor junior developers, and play a key role in designing and supporting business-critical applications that impact the organization every day. What You'll Be Doing As a Lead Software Developer, you'll partner with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise solutions. You'll lead by example, helping the team solve complex technical challenges while remaining actively involved in development.

Responsibilities include: Lead the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise applications and integrations. Architect secure, scalable solutions using modern Java technologies and microservices. Mentor and coach junior developers while promoting development best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Support and enhance critical third-party business applications and ensure seamless integration with internal systems. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations.

Participate in production support through a rotating on-call schedule, helping resolve issues and improve system reliability. Continuously identify opportunities to modernize applications, improve processes, and drive technical innovation. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who isn't afraid to challenge the status quo and continuously learn new technologies. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field with 7+ years of experience (or 10+ years of equivalent professional experience). Strong technical leadership with experience in application architecture and solution design.

Extensive experience with Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and JPA/Hibernate. Experience building microservices and integrating applications through APIs and message queues. Experience with SQL, Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap

Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, design patterns, and test-driven development. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management. Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or similar software development methodologies.

Experience with infrastructure automation and tools such as GitLab. Preferred Experience Financial services industry experience. Experience supporting production applications in an on-call environment.

Experience supporting third-party financial platforms such as SimCorp, Principia, MarkitWire, or similar enterprise applications.
