Job description

Push the limits of what's possible with us as an experienced member of our Software Engineering team.

As an Experienced Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management Technology team, you will be a key member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Depending on your team assignment, your role may involve developing mobile features to enhance customer and client banking control, strategizing on leveraging big data to accelerate our trading systems, innovating payment solutions for merchants, or supporting the integration of our private and public cloud platforms.

Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Participates in, design and develop scalable and resilient systems using Java or Python to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces or contributes to architecture and design artifacts for applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
 
 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
 
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Advanced coding knowledge in Java programming language 
  • Strong technical skills Java development including areas such as Spring, Hibernate, JMS, Spring Boot
  • Experience in Java (Core & EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud)
  • Strong skills around object oriented analysis and design (OOAD),Design principles and Design patterns with ability to trouble shoot and debug an application for any application issues
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience working with Sonar, SSAP, JIRA, GIT, Maven etc.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
 
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
 
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • Exposure to AWS cloud technologies
  • Experience with SQL/Oracle database
  • Exposure to AI/ML
