Senior Video Editor / Videographer Role Overview

OMG is seeking a Senior Video Editor / Videographer to lead post-production and field video execution for investigative journalism projects. This role owns the end-to-end video processfrom capture to final cutin a high-pressure, mission-driven environment.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in South Florida once our new office opens.

Location & Work Requirements
  • In-office position (West Palm Beach, FL) 
  • Must be local or willing to relocate
  • Long hours are standard (often 12+ hour days)
  • Extensive travel required (up to 80%) for field assignments nationwide
Key Responsibilities
  • Edit and produce long-form investigative journalism content
  • Create short-form social media video to drive reach and engagement
  • Film in diverse environments and conditions (studio, field, travel, undercover-adjacent contexts)
  • Collaborate closely with producers and stakeholders from pre-production through final delivery
  • Lead, organize, and mentor a small team of video editors/videographers
  • Maintain speed, quality, and accuracy under tight deadlines and high scrutiny
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years professional video editing experience
  • Strong leadership experience managing and motivating creative teams
  • Advanced knowledge of video cameras, audio gear, and field recording workflows
  • Proven ability to translate abstract ideas into polished, publish-ready projects
  • Exceptionally organized, clear communicator, and deadline-driven
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup / media organization
  • Solutions-oriented, resilient, thick-skinned, and complaint-free
  • Able to perform under sustained pressure with professionalism and discretion
  • Mission-aligned: committed to truth, accountability, and journalistic impact
