Job Description

Under general direction and with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through training and experience to research complex system out of balances, and work with all parties involved to resolve. Provides functional support for the users of SIS and JOLT. Leads projects, programs or processes with significant business impact involving cross-functional teams. Performs and manages varied work that is difficult in character requiring evaluation, originality and ingenuity. Resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems. Regular contact with senior management and other internal customers is required to research, identify and resolve financial and management reporting issues.

  • Reconcile the trading systems to the General Ledger, monitor suspense accounts and research complex system out of balances.

  • Serve as team lead for cross-functional system implementations, upgrades, and issue resolution.

  • Partner with business leaders to identify and implement process improvements.

  • Coordinate system testing, upgrades, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure successful deployments.

  • Administer, support, and troubleshoot key accounting and financial systems.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for designated business applications and processes.

  • Collaborate closely with Information Technology and business stakeholders to deliver effective system solutions.

  • Develop project proposals, documentation, training materials, and implementation plans.

  • Lead requirements gathering, project planning, testing, and implementation activities.

  • Create and maintain complex reports, data analyses, and automation solutions using SQL and related tools.

  • Train, mentor, and support junior associates.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge of:

  • Principles, practices, and procedures of internal systems and processes.

Skill in:

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases at an intermediate level.

  • Strong analytical and problem skills sufficient to recognize and detect work errors and correct them, or offer resolution.

  • Strong detail-orientation.

Ability to:

  • Plan, organize, manage, and track multiple detailed work assignments with constantly changing priorities and close deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Constructively work under stress and pressure and produce a high volume of assignments using strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.

  • Be self-motivated with strong sense of creativity and ability to work independently with confidence.

  • Promote team cohesiveness, cooperation and effectiveness.

  • Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels.

Education/Previous Experience:

  • Accounting knowledge, general ledger, and project accounting process experience required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • Three or more years of experience with Finance applications and working within the financial services industry or another highly regulated environment.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Travel Required: Yes, 5 % of the Time
