What You Will Do:

  • Demonstrates competency in the interrogation and assessment of multiple devices.
  • Interrogates device and collects and interprets ECG rhythm strips.
  • Evaluates device programmed parameters, event counters and stored EGMโ€™s.
  • Performs device testing of impedance and sensing/capture thresholds.
  • Re-programs device based on testing results under the direction and guidelines of the cardiologist.
  • Prepares documentation of final report utilizing computerized database/software program.
  • Identifies situations which require assistance from technical support and facilitates resolution in collaboration with technical support and direction from the cardiologist.
  • Provides quality and effective patient education related to ICD/pacemaker functioning and follow-up.
  • Facilitates scheduling of patients in the ICD/pacemaker clinic based on established protocol.
  • Completes assessment of patient to identify any signs and symptoms related to ICD/pacemaker function.
  • Institutes emergency measures in the event of sudden adverse developments in patients.

What You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Basic EKG course; advanced EKG course preferred.
  • Ability to utilize specialized equipment and computer-based equipment and programs.
  • Flexibility to travel for continuing education to maintain competency and update clinical skills.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model displaying enthusiasm, positive interpersonal interactions, and health promotion.
