Americans for Prosperity is part of the Stand Together philanthropic community. 

We are looking for a Sr. Administrative Assistant to join Americans for Prosperity (AFP). We need a quick-thinking collaborator to support multiple leaders within the AFP policy team. Our goals are significant, and our organization moves quickly.We will tap into your problem-solving and organizational skills every day and look to you to help the leaders you support. You'll support the team in making effective decisions about how they prioritize their time while ensuring steady progress and forward momentum.  

How You Will Contribute
  • Calendar management.Prioritize a high volume of inquiries and requests while troubleshooting conflicts for multiple leaders and the broader team with a high level of attention to detail. Make timely judgments and provide scheduling recommendations grounded in strategic priorities, with a win-win mentality, to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements. 
  • Meeting preparation and participation.Assemble meeting agendas, record meeting minutes and notes, collect action items, and oversee A/V needs.
  • General administrative support. Provide light event support, ad hoc project coordination, travel arrangement support, and general administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to organization-wide initiatives, including operational improvements and cross-functional projects, as needed. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with limited direction by being entrepreneurial and innovative. 
  • Identify areas to increase efficiency and innovate to improve team processes.Keep an eye out for opportunities to help the policy team better support the organization's goals. Identify and learn new tools or techniques to elevate the level of support and partnership that the entire policy team gives to its customers.
 
The role will be based in-person in our Ballston, VA office.  
What You Will Bring
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a support or administrative capacity
  • Experience in a high-volume scheduling environment 
  • Astute attention to detail and drive to take initiative
  • Track record of follow-up and follow-through; high degree of reliability
  • Extremely organized, self-disciplined, and professional in demeanor
  • High degree of confidentiality, sound judgment, ability to think on your feet, and problem-solving while maintaining composure
  • Articulate and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
