Safety is a top priority, so following strict protocols and using proper personal protective equipment is essential. Additionally, arborists must communicate clearly with team members and property owners to ensure the health of the trees and minimize risks to people and property. Continuous education and training help arborists stay updated on the latest best practices and technologies in the field.

To thrive as a Tree Surgeon (Arborist), you need a solid understanding of tree biology, pruning techniques, and safety protocols, typically supported by a relevant certification or qualification in arboriculture. Familiarity with chainsaws, climbing equipment, aerial lifts, and industry-standard safety systems is essential. Physical fitness, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help arborists work safely and effectively, often as part of a team or with clients. These skills are crucial for ensuring the health of trees, maintaining safety on the job, and delivering quality service to clients.
