Job Description
Commercial Mechanical Systems & Service, LLC (CMSS) is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our skilled mechanical service team. This full-time position focuses on servicing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems for commercial and industrial clients throughout Utah.
Responsibilities
Sales / Marketing / Project Management
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, rooftop units (RTUs), variable air volume (VAV) systems, and split systems.
  • Install mechanical components and systems according to specifications, codes, and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools, instruments, and techniques.
  • Accurately document service activities, parts used, and system performance.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding work performed and service recommendations.
  • Adhere to company safety policies, procedures, and standards at all times.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience servicing commercial mechanical HVAC systems.
  • EPA Universal Certification required, additional state or local licenses a plus.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC components, controls, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varied environments, including rooftops and confined spaces.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb ladders and access rooftop or mechanical equipment.
  • Work in confined spaces or variable weather conditions when required.
  • Lift and carry tools or equipment for jobsite assessments.
  • Working beyond standard hours when necessary to meet project or client needs.
