Job description

An Optometrist (Eye Doctor) is responsible for providing comprehensive vision care to patients so they can care for their eyes and access appropriate tools to support their eyesight and eye health.  Duties include; conducting eye examinations, identifying signs of disease or injury and prescribing corrective eye glass lenses and/or contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Optometry
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred
  • Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) and licensed by the State in which they are practicing
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
