Job description

The Tank Technician Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising a team of technicians performing tank maintenance, repair, cleaning, coating, and inspection activities in industrial environments. This position ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Foreman coordinates daily work activities, provides technical guidance to crew members, and serves as the primary point of contact between field personnel, supervisors, and clients. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on technical knowledge, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of tank technicians and support personnel.
  • Plan, assign, and oversee tank maintenance, repair, cleaning, blasting, and coating projects.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Inspect work in progress and completed tasks to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate equipment, tools, and materials needed for job execution.
  • Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to crew members when needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including work reports, safety documentation, and inspection records.
  • Communicate daily progress, issues, and project updates to supervisors and project management.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and care of tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new technicians.
  • Maintain 100% "Safety Standards and Accountability" in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
    • Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.
    • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
    • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
    • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
    • Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
    • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
    • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
    • Promote and participate in Safety Programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • NSTC card
  • 3-5 years of experience in tank maintenance, repair, or related industrial work.
  • 2-4 years of experience leading crews or acting in a supervisory role.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • North Slope or remote field experience.
  • Experience with industrial blasting, coating, or tank inspection processes.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard.   • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
