Department: Respiratory | RT
*Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP. CRT is acceptable. Must have a blood gas license for NV.*
HOUSING: Confirm the candidate has looked into housing in the area with the submittal. Leads available.
- # treatments per day: Day shift there ARE TIMES when they are the ONLY RT in house. Night shift is the ONLY RT each
shift. When 2 RT are on days to split duties depending on need in the acute/ICU, ER, outpatient and OB areas.
- Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP. CRT is acceptable. Must have a blood gas license for NV.
- Types of patients: All, Inpatient, outpatient, ER, floor, ICU, OB, we do not have a NICU but attend all high-risk deliveries
and C-Sections RT goes to rapid response calls.
- What areas do they cover: Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, OB, Can assist with cardiac and pulmonary rehab if needed.
- Experience: Ok with 1 year of experience. Ok with first time travelers. Prefer all Peds, adult and NICU experiences. Well
rounded, have hats in everything. Ability to work on their own if needed/ comfortable being only RT in house.
- Job Duties: RTs draw and run ABGs, EKGs, PFTs, stress tests, breathing treatments etc.
- Are RTs Required to be able to Intubate Independently or only to assist?: Assist the MD, working toward doing so
independently.
- Respiratory Manager/Supervisor/Lead Therapist: Director and Lead. The lead will take patients- does a lot of outpatient
PFT work.
- Shifts & Scheduling *Would they ever be the only RT in-house?*: 7 on 7 off: 12 hr shifts, starting on Thursday to
Wednesday. Day shift there ARE TIMES when they are the ONLY RT in house. Night shift is the ONLY RT each shift.
- Weekend Requirements: As falls with 7 on 7 off.
- Holiday Requirements: As falls with 7 on 7 off, seniority and requests.
- Call or standby call requirement: No
- What is call response time: N/a
- Floating Requirements: No
- Scrub Color: No color requirement.
- RT Equipment: Hamilton C1 vents, Philips Respironics V60 bipaps, Vapotherm, Airvo.
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes 24/7.
- Department Specific Orientation: Varies; 1-2 weeks of department specific orientation.
