Gracie Barra Arizona is looking for a passionate, professional, and high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor who is ready to do more than just teach techniques — someone who wants to build people, strengthen community, and represent the world’s leading Jiu-Jitsu organization.

As a Gracie Barra Instructor, you won’t just be running classes. You’ll be shaping confidence, discipline, character, and lifelong habits through the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. You’ll serve as a mentor, role model, and leader — on and off the mats.

  • Brown Belt or Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
  • Passionate about teaching, coaching, and mentoring

You understand that being a Gracie Barra Instructor means high standards, consistency, and care for every student.


Core Responsibilities

Instruction & Student Experience

  • Teach and assist kids and adult classes according to schedule
  • Deliver classes strictly aligned with the Gracie Barra Method and GB Instructor Certification Program
  • Start and end classes on time, fully prepared
  • Ensure student safety at all times
  • Track attendance, promotions, and belt progression
  • Encourage student engagement with GB Online
  • Motivate students to participate in CompNets and GB events

Community & Communication

  • Maintain open, professional communication with parents and families
  • Call absentee students and follow up with new students (weeks 2 & 4)
  • Present a positive public image while promoting the school
  • Act as a role model on and off the mats

Professional Standards

  • Follow the Gracie Barra Instructor Code of Conduct
  • Wear official Gracie Barra uniform, clean and in good condition
  • No profanity or unprofessional behavior — ever
  • Be on-site and ready 10–20 minutes before class
  • Ensure all students and guests have signed waivers
  • Comply with GB Sexual Harassment & Abuse Prevention Guidelines

Operations & Organization

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized academy
  • Manage intro uniforms and equipment organization
  • Ensure disease prevention protocols are followed
  • Use ClubReady for attendance, promotions, and member management
  • Assist with special events, seminars, and promotions

Marketing & Engagement

  • Help maintain an active and engaging social media presence
  • Use mobile devices on the mats only for approved content creation
  • Support Gracie Barra branding and messaging


Required Skills & Experience

  • Brown Belt or Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
  • Jiu-Jitsu Instruction experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time & task management
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Sales and member engagement experience
