This is an exciting opportunity for an engineering professional with strong NX CAD and fabrication experience to contribute to tooling design team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop tooling concepts and support equipment for new and existing programs.
  • Design industrial tools, dies, gauges, drill and assembly jigs, fixtures, machine attachments, and equipment.
  • Create engineering drawings, inspection requirements, verification plans, layouts, sketches, and design documentation.
  • Review tooling designs for manufacturability, fit, form, function, safety, cost, and performance.
  • Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2018 and interpret drawing weld symbols.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, operations, process engineering, vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Manage tooling projects involving cost, schedule, procurement, and fabrication.
  • Review completed drawings for accuracy, completeness, dimensional requirements, and drafting standards.
  • Identify design errors, omissions, and deficiencies and recommend design improvements.
  • Support vendors during fabrication and inspect completed tooling for drawing compliance.
  • Participate in root-cause investigations, non-conformance resolution, process improvements, and problem-solving initiatives.
     
Required Qualifications
  • 3–9 years of relevant engineering/tooling experience.
  • Experience with NX CAD and CATIA.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes and machine shop practices.
  • Experience with engineering drawing release criteria and documentation.
  • Knowledge and application of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018).
  • Knowledge of drawing weld symbols.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project-management abilities.
  • Strong attention to technical detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and special program access.
     
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace & defence manufacturing experience.
  • Experience designing and fabricating special tooling and support equipment.
  • Experience with tooling for composite part manufacturing.
  • Aircraft assembly experience.
  • Experience evaluating vendor capabilities.
  • Experience developing tooling SOWs and design estimates.
  • Experience with PLM systems.
  • Experience with FEMAP/NASTRAN and stress analysis.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Current active DoD Secret clearance with a recent investigation/review.
