Counter Sales Representative

$22.00-25.00/hour

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

We have a great opportunity to join our Counter Sales Team at our Watertown, SD branch as a Counter Sales Representative.  This is an on-site position that will provide quotes, sales and service, and will work with internal and external customers to ensure company goals are met and long-term positive customer relationships are cultivated.

Responsibilities

  • Write orders for walk in, phone, and email customers.
  • Assist with order pickups, keep up with calling queue.
  • Update displays and assist with product merchandising/facing and maintain cleanliness of counter space and displays.
  • Research and problem solve customer orders.
  • Update internal notes on orders.
  • Answer product questions via phone, email, in person.
  • Inventory/location management of returns and stock items.
  • Partner with coworkers/other departments to complete tasks.
  • Promote vendor-preferred, sponsored, and add-on items.
  • Support/help with coverage for inside sales.


Qualifications


Education

  • Highschool diploma or GED

Experience and/or Training

  • 1 year working in a warehouse environment as a team member, working with power equipment, and pulling orders. A solid understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processes
  • 1 year of related sales experience
  • Comfortable with various computer software programs
  • Math skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and to other employees of the organization
  • Self-motivated and self-starter
  • Organized, strong time management skills. Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and collaborate within a multi-functional team
  • A team player – work together with others to accomplish common goals of company
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, consistent, and tenacious
  • 2 years in a related customer service role preferred
  • Wholesale distribution and/or retail experience preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC components preferred
