Sofia Jewelry | Mill Valley, CA Sofia Jewelry is an established, family-owned fine jewelry store in the heart of Mill Valley. Since 1994, we have built our reputation on exceptional craftsmanship, personalized service, and beautifully curated fine jewelry. We specialize in custom design, expert jewelry repair, restoration, and luxury designer collections. We are seeking an experienced Lead Bench Jeweler & Repair Manager to lead our repair department while performing expert bench work. This is an ideal opportunity for a highly skilled jeweler who enjoys both hands-on craftsmanship and overseeing the dayto-day operations of a busy repair studio.



Responsibilities

โ€ข Perform expert jewelry repairs including ring sizing and re shanking, prong rebuilding and re-tipping, chain and clasp repairs, stone setting, laser welding, torch soldering, restoration, finishing, and polishing.

โ€ข Evaluate repair jobs and determine the best repair methods.

โ€ข Manage repair workflow to ensure timely completion and exceptional quality.

โ€ข Maintain quality control standards for all completed work.

โ€ข Communicate repair recommendations and timelines with the sales team.

โ€ข Order supplies, findings, and repair materials.

โ€ข Maintain studio equipment and organize the workshop.

โ€ข Train or mentor junior bench jewelers as needed.

โ€ข Collaborate with the custom design team on fabrication and special projects.


Qualifications

โ€ข Minimum 5 years of professional bench jewelry experience.

โ€ข Extensive experience working with gold, platinum, and precious gemstones.

โ€ข Expert torch soldering and laser welding skills.

โ€ข Experience with restoration work.

โ€ข Ability to independently diagnose complex repairs.

โ€ข Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail.

โ€ข Strong organizational and time-management skills.

โ€ข Experience managing repair workflow or leading a repair department preferred.
