Job description

The Jeweler is responsible for performing basic sizing, soldering & prong settings in various precious metals. The Jeweler will also be responsible for servicing guestsโ€™ needs with respect to POMP/JSP, cleanings and Lifetime Warranty Check-ups in an immediate, positive and caring manner. He/she will be responsible for conducting opening/closing/scheduled maintenance for the jewelerโ€™s room and shop equipment while progressively advancing jewelry repair & manufacturing techniques. The Jeweler is responsible to continue learning and acquiring new techniques to improve he/she skills and learn the custom making process.

The Jeweler works closely with the Master Jeweler and the General Manager to achieve store objectives and is responsible for supporting, modeling, and ensuring the adherence to company values

JEWELRY REPAIR

  • Performs basic sizing, soldering & prong settings in various precious metals.
  • Complete repairs in a timely manner while maintaining Robbins Brothers Quality standards.
  • Consistently provides innovative solutions, withing RB parameters, for repairs/custom pieces to maintain the items integrity while driving repair revenue.

GUEST SERVICE

  • Services guestโ€™s needs with respect to POMP/JSP, Cleanings and Warranty Check-ups in an immediate, positive, and caring manner.
  • Assists store staff with basic guest inquiries.

SECURITY/SAFETY

  • Maintains constant awareness of security issues involved in operating a store and jewelry shop.
  • Follows guidelines and procedures for handling merchandise.
  • Follows procedures for opening and closing the store.
  • Enforces safety protocols in shop with all tools, equipment and chemicals.
  • Must know how to safely handle hazardous chemicals; include assisting with hazardous waste spills and clean up.

SHOP MAINTENANCE

  • Responsible for conducting opening/closing/scheduled maintenance for shop equipment.
  • Assists Master Jeweler in maintaining a clean, aesthetically pleasing shop environment.
  • Maintains supply needs for in-store repairs; casting grain, solders, rhodium, Airgas, tools, Etc. in partnership with the Master Jeweler or General Manager.

EDUCATION

  • Responsible for completing assigned training.
  • Responsible for becoming proficient in progressively advancing jewelry repair & manufacturing techniques.
