Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards. This role supervises production employees, coordinates workflow, monitors equipment performance, and promotes continuous improvement while maintaining a safe work environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or technical training preferred.
  • Four or more years of manufacturing experience, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in welded wire mesh, wire drawing, steel processing, or metal manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read production schedules, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and production targets
  • Lead, train, and develop production employees while promoting teamwork and accountability
  • .Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing and workflow to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure wire drawing machine, mesh line, and other production machinery are operating effectively.
  • Work closely with Maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and resolve production issues.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with customer specifications and company standards.
  • Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production records, labor reports, and shift documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate production goals, priorities, and performance expectations to the team.
