Professionals in this position write, modify, and troubleshoot JCL scripts to automate data processing tasks and improve system performance. They ensure that jobs run efficiently, address errors, and may collaborate with developers, system administrators, and operations teams. Expertise in JCL is critical for maintaining legacy mainframe environments in industries like banking, insurance, and government.
