Title: Asst. Scholars Bowl Coach (JCHS)
Qualifications: *Knowledge of the principles of effective teaching
*Coaching experience is preferred
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Knowledge of district and state activities association guidelines
*Good health & physical condition must be able to lift 50 pounds
*Current TB skin test on file
*Valid driver's license

BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
To provide students with training and development so they can successfully compete at the local and State level in a Scholars Bowl format.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Supervise students during work nights giving individual and group evaluation.
  2. Works with head coach in scheduling and conducting tournaments.
  3. Assists with organizing and hosting any JCHS tournament.
  4. Ensures that students represent JCHS in an appropriate manner by having all students follow JCHS student guidelines and Scholars Bowl team guidelines.
  5. See that all students competing for JCHS are academically eligible to represent JCHS at competitions.
  6. Keep accurate accounting of all income and expenditures for the activity.
  7. See that transportation arrangements are made so students can attend competitions.
  8. Other Activities approved by head coach/building administrators

The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach. The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
