NextGen Federal Systems is hiring a Software Developer to provide our Customs and Border Protection - Air and Marine Operations (AMO) customer with a variety of support services The position requires the ability to interpret problems and provide technical support for Software and Data projects.
Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal software applications, ensuring they meet evolving business requirements and enhance organizational processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and interpret data, generating detailed reports using tools such as SQL and Crystal Reports.
  • Design, develop, and maintain databases, optimizing performance and ensuring data integrity, including creating stored procedures, triggers, and data transformation scripts in MS SQL.
  • Develop dynamic, web-based applications using MS Web API, C#, C++, and JavaScript to support internal systems and processes.
  • Create responsive, cross-browser, and mobile-compatible user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks such as JQuery, EXTJS, Sencha Touch, and AJAX.
  • Ensure software compliance with security standards, including the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), and support risk management processes and procedures.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and optimize software performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software applications to streamline workflows and enhance operational productivity.

Qualificiations
  • Skills designing and maintaining MS SQL server applications including stored procedures, triggers, data transformation and database optimization..
  • Skills in developing dynamic web applications utilizing C#, C++, WebAPI or xBase++ languages on the server.
  • Skills developing cross browser and mobile compatible AJAX web application UI in HTML, Active Widgets, EXTJS, Sencha Touch or JQuery.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, installing, updating and maintain large MS windows-based computer system including all hardware and software is required.
  • Experience maintaining Cisco firewalls, routers, VPN services, and remotely connected VPN sites is a plus.
