Job Summary:
Spark Tek Inc is seeking a skilled ServiceNow Backend Developer to design, develop, and implement backend solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The role involves building custom applications, automating workflows, integrating third-party systems, and ensuring optimal performance and scalability of the ServiceNow environment.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain backend functionality within the ServiceNow platform, including Business Rules, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, and custom APIs.
• Configure and customize ServiceNow applications, such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, or custom scoped apps.
• Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware tools.
• Develop and enforce coding standards, security best practices, and quality assurance procedures.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, ServiceNow administrators, and business analysts to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in Agile development sprints, sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, security, and functionality.
• Document technical specifications, implementation steps, and solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing on the ServiceNow platform.
• Strong experience with JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow development tools.
• Hands-on experience with integrations using REST/SOAP, OAuth, MID Servers, etc.
• In-depth understanding of ServiceNow architecture and best practices.
• Experience with modules like ITSM, CMDB, Service Catalog, and Workflows.
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow's scripting engine and server-side development.
Preferred:
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git repositories for version control.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of database design, SQL, and data modeling concepts.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.
