Responsibilities

You will take ownership of significant areas of development - contributing not just at the code level, but in shaping solutions, influencing engineering standards, and helping teams improve their quality and level of execution. A meaningful part of this role involves working at the forefront ofcutting-edgeengineeringthat givesdevelopersacross the organization a unified, comprehensive suite ofassets andcapabilities.Specifically, you will:

  • Lead development efforts across the full software lifecycle.
  • Contribute to and help define engineering best practices.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and engage in substantive design discussions.
  • Evaluate tactical vs. strategic tradeoffs with an eye toward the long-term health of the codebase.
  • Take accountability for the technical debt and enhancements within your own work.

Qualifications

We place a premium on strong problem-solving ability and a genuine drive to learn continuously- particularly as we expand into new AI-adjacent engineering domains.Alongside that, you will need solid technical depth in Java and AWS to be effective from day one and experience in Typescript/Node.js or Python are also a plus.

Required:

  • Passion for problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • 5+ years of progressive software development experience, including microservice architecture.
  • Deepexpertisedesigning, building, deploying, and supporting Java backend systems.
  • Hands-on AWS experience across services such as ECS, EC2/Fargate, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, DynamoDB, ALB, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and IAM.
  • Experience writing unit tests and working across a variety of testing frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A product mindset - focused on supporting and evolving a living product rather than simply delivering a project.
  • Ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment, provide and receive candid feedback, and keep teammates informed as you driveworkforward.
  • Strong documentation practices in code as well as in design and consumer-facing materials.
  • Ability to troubleshoot your own work and support others in resolving theirs.

Preferred:

  • Experience with TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
  • Familiarity with Open Telemetry, Apigee,HashiCorpVault, Kafka, Postgres, and/or Splunk.
