Role Summary

Engineers in T. Rowe Price's Distribution & Marketing Services - API, Services, & Identity Management's organization is responsible for the secure and efficient administration of external user authentication systems. The team ensures that external clients can access T. Rowe Price resources in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves implementing best practices for identity and access management (IAM), maintaining up-to-date authentication protocols, and driving continuous improvement in the login experience and security posture. We want technologists with a new perspective who are passionate about solving business, data and technical challenges. You will develop innovative, next-generation applications tailored for n-tier cloud architectures, leveraging the latest security standards and emerging technologies to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions.

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer who has a passion, vision and technical acumen to help lead strategic initiatives and meet the needs of the business. You'll be hands-on coding through the entire development lifecycle using cloud computing, lightweight Java microservices, React frontends, and highly resilient software services.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops full stack solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards
  • Performs technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications
  • Develops specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings
  • Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies
  • Demonstrates master hands-on capability to drive components to delivery
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to iterative development cycles
  • Recommends and contributes to software engineering best practices, including those that have enterprise-wide impact
  • Accountable for the quality, maintainability and security of the system
  • Capable of leading regular, ongoing development projects
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry standards in full stack development
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and requirements, following best practices in software development

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant full stack engineering experience, plus 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years' experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services using Java and related frameworks
  • 3+ years' experience implementing technology solutions using AWS cloud technologies
  • 3+ years' experience developing web applications with React.js and using state management libraries
  • 3+ years' experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end build pipelines and tools
  • Expertise in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting full stack technology solutions
  • Knowledge in testing frameworks for both front-end and back-end applications
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and stay abreast of industry trends
  • Experience working with existing data models and schemas, with the ability to suggest changes and improvements.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in financial services
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile development environment.
  • Experience with user authentication systems and protocols
