Job description

Hansen Talent Group is seeking a strong, remote software engineer with in-depth experience developing and supporting Java Cloud platforms as part of a large-scale modernization and migration effort. 
The Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for leading design and development efforts to support a Java migration, moving on-prem legacy applications to a new, cloud platform. 
Duties:
  • Participate in discovery and stakeholder meetings to understand business and functional requirements needed in order to design best fit solutions. 
  • Assist architects in design and technical decision making, addressing potential concerns and roadblocks while also ensuring client requirements align with the technology in use.
  • Lead planning activities and support stakeholder communications. 
  • Design and develop Java Spring APIs and review existing architecture, making changes and recommendations as needed. 
  • Integrate cloud services to support computing, storage, and serverless functions. Additionally, write and implement IaC using Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure.
  • Review CI/CD pipelines, working with Jenkins and Github to ensure smooth deployments. 
  • Support the integration of security tools and reporting dashboards  to support DevSecOps initiatives and overall security posture for the client platform. 
  • Oversee code reviews and mentor junior developers on cloud-native best practices.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies to support continuous improvement
Qualifications:
  • Experience as a lead developer supporting cloud migration projects
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in design and development of Java application hosted on AWS
  • AWS serverless functions
