Job description

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber company is seeking a motivated individual to design, develop, and deliver integrated PLM software solutions to internal customers in support of business needs. You will work with a cross-functional and cross-continental group of software developers and engineers who are creating, enhancing, and supporting PLM applications that are key to the Goodyear design community. The software engineer will design and develop software solutions within these critical systems.
The candidate will evolve as part of a global software development team which implements IT R&D software solutions to support the tire design and manufacturing processes in different innovation and design centers and many manufacturing plants globally. The quality of our service is ensured through our implementation of industry standard ITIL practices.
What You'll Do:
Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and enhance enterprise PLM applications within the Teamcenter ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business requirements and architecture standards.
    Develop and maintain customizations using ITK, BMIDE, SOA/REST services, and UI frameworks to support business processes.
    Perform incident management in alignment with ITIL practices, including root cause analysis, resolution, and problem prevention.
    Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across application, integration, and data layers where root causes are not immediately obvious.
    Maintain, enhance, and support sub-systems, integrations, and third-party components associated with the PLM landscape.
    Ensure data integrity, consistency, and system stability through robust design, validation, and operational safeguards.
    Develop and execute unit testing to ensure high-quality, defect-free deliverables aligned with development standards.
    Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and design teams to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
    Adhere to established Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including coding standards, reviews, testing, and release governance.
    Engage with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to provide technical input, status updates, and risk identification.
    Seek guidance from senior technical leads or architects when facing ambiguous requirements or unfamiliar technical challenges.
    Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, code documentation, and knowledge base articles.
    Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve development efficiency and platform capabilities.
    Support production deployments, including participation in change windows and off-hours activities as required.
    Operate effectively within EST time zone expectations and support global delivery requirements when necessary.

What We're Looking For:
  • BRONZE Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • BRONZE Minimum 7-8 years of development experience with Siemens Teamcenter, preferable experience with version 2412 or newer in enterprise production environments
  • BRONZE Minimum 7-8 years of strong experience developing using Java or C++, ITK, BMIDE, and Teamcenter customization frameworks
  • BRONZE Experience working with scripting and automation tools such as SQL, Batch scripting, or PowerShell
  • BRONZE Experience developing web-based solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, React, Angular or similar technologies
  • BRONZE Hands-on experience working within structured SDLC and Agile/DevOps delivery models
  • BRONZE Experience integrating Teamcenter with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware solutions
  • BRONZE Experience using version control systems such as GitHub, working with modern CI/CD and DevOps toolchains (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • BRONZE Experience working in production support environments with incident and problem management responsibilities using ServiceNOW
  • SILVER Experience with Teamcenter T4X integration implementations (T4S, T4EA, AGI, etc)
  • SILVER Experience building reports and analytics using Snowflake, Power BI, Excel VBA, or similar tools
  • SILVER Familiarity with CAD/PLM integrations (CATIA V5, NX, or similar CAD engineering tools)
