Software Engineer II (Java/Azure)

Overview

Our client is seeking a Software Engineer to support a large-scale modernization initiative within Commercial Banking. This role will play a critical part in the migration from the legacy AFS platform to AFS VisionPro, while helping transform and modernize the surrounding application ecosystem through cloud-native development and Azure adoption.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java development, Azure cloud services, API integration, and enterprise application modernization. This individual will help design and develop scalable solutions that enable seamless integration between VisionPro, internal banking systems, and cloud-based platforms while supporting the migration of applications and services from on-premises data centers to Microsoft Azure.

This is an opportunity to join a highly visible multi-year transformation program impacting core commercial lending platforms across the bank.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and Azure serverless solutions supporting the AFS VisionPro platform.
  • Build and enhance APIs and middleware services that facilitate integration between VisionPro, internal banking applications, and third-party platforms.
  • Participate in migrating applications and services from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop Azure Functions and event-driven solutions leveraging Azure-native services.
  • Implement secure API integrations using modern authentication and authorization standards, including OAuth 2.0 and Managed Identities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, product teams, and vendor partners to define technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Support application modernization efforts by refactoring legacy components into cloud-native architectures.
  • Establish and maintain robust monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support capabilities.
  • Conduct system analysis, design reviews, code reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across distributed systems and integrated applications.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership within the team.
  • Promote best practices around software engineering, testing, security, and DevOps automation.

Required Technical SkillsJava Development
  • Strong experience with Core Java, including:

DevOps & SDLC

  • CI/CD pipeline implementation and support.

QualificationsRequired
