Job Title

SDET

About your role:

Fiserv is a global leader in financial services technology, and Clover provides the smart point-of-sale (POS) platform and SDKs that empower thousands of integrators and developers to build custom merchant applications. As an SDET on the SETI (Software Engineering for Test Infrastructure) team, you will ensure our developers and integrators have a reliable platform by testing Clover SDKs, applications, and hardware across complex device configurations. In this role, you will execute test plans across 5+ language bindings and payment flows-collaborating closely with distributed teams and utilizing our custom 40-robot automated test lab to maintain unmatched product quality.

What you'll do:

  • Execute tests in multiple environments to support Android application and server releases while diagnosing regressions across a complex integration environment.
  • Scope, document, write test plans, and create test cases for new features across various Clover SDKs, language bindings, and device configurations.
  • Report defects against Clover applications and SDKs using Jira and partner with development teams to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Coordinate with distributed testing teams to manage testing schedules and ensure release deadlines are met.
  • Identify testing gaps, develop strategies for filling those gaps, and support full regression testing for monthly app releases.
  • Learn and leverage test automation frameworks (such as UIAutomator), script-driven Jenkins pipelines, and programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Swift, Ruby, Bash, Groovy) to drive custom payment test suites and robot testing infrastructure.
  • Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent combination of experience, education and military.
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in Software Quality Assurance (QA) and/or Software Development.
  • Proven experience performing manual testing and maintaining test plans and test cases within complex software environments.
  • Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Strong attention to detail, pragmatic problem-solving skills, and the ability to assimilate new technical concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience with Android OS and application-level testing (ADB debugging and core Android concepts).
  • Hands-on experience developing native apps or SEMI integrations for Clover POS hardware (using Clover SDKs, Clover Connector, or REST Pay API).
  • Familiarity testing REST APIs, executing SQL queries in MySQL, and utilizing SSH in Linux or Unix (macOS) environments.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and development IDEs such as Android Studio or IntelliJ.
  • Exposure to automated test script development (UIAutomator, Espresso, JavaScript, Swift, Java, or .NET) and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Familiarity with executing/configuring Jenkins pipelines and performing root-cause analysis on test automation failures.
  • Hands-on experience with point-of-sale (POS) hardware/software, mobile payments architecture, or automated hardware test systems.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Benefits at Fiserv:

  • Fuel Your Life program to support your physical, financial, social, and emotional well-being
  • Paid holidays and generous time away policies
  • No-cost mental health support through Employee Assistance Programs
  • Living Proof program to recognize your peers' extra effort with points redeemable for rewards
  • Eight Employee Resource Groups to foster a collaborative culture and expand your network
  • Unparalleled professional growth with training, development, and internal mobility opportunities
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options available from day one
  • Retirement planning and discounted shares with the Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Tuition assistance and reimbursement program
  • Paid parental, caregiver, and military leave
